Forrest Brown, M.D., F.A.A.D
Dr. Forrest Brown has been a leader in dermatology for over 30 years. A native of Denton, Texas, he has consistently been a pioneer of new and specialized techniques for skin care and the medical treatment of dermatologic malignancies. Dr. Brown was the second physician in Northern Texas to offer Mohs Surgery to local skin cancer patients, and he was the first to introduce the VISIA complexion analysis system to Texas.
Dr. Brown was educated in Texas, receiving degrees from the University of Texas and Southwestern Medical School. After completing his medical internship at the University of Missouri, Dr. Brown entered the United States Navy and completed his dermatology residency at the San Diego Naval Hospital. His naval research and study involved tropical dermatology at the Gorgas Research Institute in Panama City, Panama, and immunodermatology at the Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California.
Dr. Brown has devoted his career to the aesthetic and medical dermatology of patients with varying degrees of skin conditions. However, his most notable procedure is the Mohs Surgery. This is an in office, day surgery developed by Dr. Mohs to remove skin cancer.
In addition to his dermatology practice at Medical City, Dallas, Dr. Brown has been dabbling in the the cosmetic procedures with great success for some time now. He is well known for his unique Slim Lipo procedure, and a non surgical skin tightening procedure known as Thermage.
Dr. Brown is certified by the American Boards of Dermatology and Dermapathology, the American Board of Mohs Surgery, and the American Board of Laser Surgery. He was a Brittinham Fellow in Mohs Surgery at the University of Wisconsin, and then studied under Frederic E. Mohs – the originator of this surgical skin cancer procedure.
